ASM International - Inland Empire Chapter: 
1.  Chapter receives 2010-2011 5-Star Chapter Award: 
     The Inland Empire Chapter (Spokane, WA) of ASM International was awarded
     ASM's highest chapter rating, 5-Star, at ASM's "Leadership Days" being conducted from
     August 4th - 7th in Cleveland, Ohio.  Representing the Chapter to accept the
     award from ASM International 2010-2011 President, Mark Smith (Sandia
     Laboratories, Albuquerque, NM) were Kevin Polito, ASMIE Chapter Executive
     Committee, and Bob Grammer, (below) ASMIE 2010-2011Chapter Secretary. 
     The Inland Empire chapter would like to welcome any interested people in the
     Pacific Northwest "Inland Empire" area to visit and join us.

2.  Kevin Polito, ASM Chapter Council Chair Receives Special Recognition:
     Kevin Polito, of the ASM Inland Empire Chapter was presented with a special
     award of appreciation at the conclusion of the 2011 ASM International "Leadership
     Days" awards ceremony at the Renaissance Mariott Hotel in Cleveland, Ohio on
     August 5th, 2011.  Kevin served as the Chair for the Chapter Council of ASM
     for the term of 2010-2011.   Kevin gave a special thanks to his employer,
     Hi-Rel Laboratories (Spokane, WA) for making it possible for him to serve in
     this demanding position this past year.  Kevin works as a DPA Specialist and
     SEM/Pre-Cap Inspector at Hi-Rel.  "Hi-Rel Labs is known throughout the world

Nevada Heat Treating, Inc. (Carson City, NV) have purchased their second new atmosphere
integral quench hardening furnace.  Congratulations to Pat McKenna and Rich Penrose on their
continued growth.   There is always work for well-managed companies, even in poor economic
times.
